STREAMS Pathways to Higher Education kicked off this year's season with Pagbugsay 33: All Aboard on the 18th of July at Room 401 of the Agriculture Building, Xavier University Main Campus. The primary objective of the simple event was to gather all the latest batch of volunteers of STREAMS-Pathways to Higher Education and allow them to get to know and bond with each other.
The event consisted of a welcome address from Ms Jessa Mae A. Dugenio (STREAMS Moderator) and talks from key note speakers: Ms. Richel P. Petalcurin (SACDEV Head) and Mr. Ivanell R. Subrabas (Director of Student Affairs). It also included games that allowed the volunteers to have fun and bond with each other at the same time.
Sir Ivan shared the history of the program to the latest batch of STREAMS volunteers. One of the highlights of his talk was the story of Ike Noah Flores (STREAMS Batch One Participant). The event progressed with Ma’am Petal’s introduction of the Student Activities and Leadership Development Office-Office of Student Affairs (SACDEV-OSA).
The last part of the activity was the split sessions. This gave the Rowers a chance to get to know their co-volunteers from their respective departments and to familiarize themselves with the objectives and tasks to be done by their respective departments.
